This Privacy Policy describes Our policies and procedures on the collection, use and disclosure of Your information when You use the Service and tells You about Your privacy rights and how the law protects You.
We use Your Personal data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, You agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Interpretation
The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:
Account means a unique account created for You to access our Service or parts of our Service. On Housekeep, Accounts are created for You by a Household Admin — there is no public self-registration.
Application refers to Housekeep, the software program provided by the Company.
Company (referred to as either “the Company”, “We”, “Us” or “Our” in this Agreement) refers to Housekeep.
Country refers to: Denmark
Device means any device that can access the Service such as a computer, a cellphone or a digital tablet.
Home (or Household) means a group created inside the Service that a set of Users belong to and share a chore board with.
Household Admin means a User with administrator privileges for one or more Homes, who can create Accounts, manage Homes, and configure tasks.
Personal Data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
Service refers to the Application.
Service Provider means any natural or legal person who processes the data on behalf of the Company. For Housekeep, this is Google LLC, through the Firebase platform (Authentication and Cloud Firestore), which stores and processes data on Our behalf.
Usage Data refers to data collected automatically, either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself.
You means the individual accessing or using the Service.
Collecting and Using Your Personal Data
Types of Data Collected
Personal Data
While using Our Service, a Household Admin provides Us with certain personally identifiable information about You in order to create Your Account. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:
Name
Email address
A chosen accent color, used to identify You visually on the shared board
Household Data
As part of using the Service, We collect data generated by Your household activity, including:
Which Home(s) You belong to, and Your role (Admin or Member)
Tasks assigned to or completed by You, and when
Points earned from approved completed tasks
In-app notification history
Usage Data
Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service.
Usage Data may include information such as Your Device’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data, collected automatically by Our Service Provider (Google Firebase) as part of operating the Service.
We do not collect location data, payment or financial information, photographs, contacts, or browsing history outside the app. We do not use advertising trackers, and the Service does not display advertisements.
Use of Your Personal Data
The Company may use Personal Data for the following purposes:
To provide and maintain our Service, including operating the shared household chore board — showing tasks, rotations, assignments, and completion status.
To manage Your Account: to manage Your registration and role (Admin or Member) within the Service.
To manage Households: to let Household Admins organize members, tasks, and homes.
To calculate and display points earned from approved completed tasks.
To contact You: through in-app notifications regarding task approvals, rejections, and other updates relevant to Your household.
To manage Your requests: To attend and manage Your requests to Us.
For other purposes: such as maintaining the security and integrity of the Service.
We do not use Your information for advertising or marketing purposes, and We do not sell Your Personal Data.
We may share Your personal information in the following situations:
With other Members of Your Home(s): when You use the Service, Your name, avatar color, task assignments and completions, and points are visible to other Members of the same Home(s) You belong to — this is the intended, core function of a shared household board. This information is not visible to Users in a different, unrelated Home.
With Our Service Provider: We share data with Google Firebase to host, store, and operate the Service on Our behalf, as described in Section “Where Your Data Is Stored” below.
With Your consent: We may disclose Your personal information for any other purpose with Your consent.
We do not share Your personal information with Affiliates, business partners, advertisers, or data brokers, and We do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Retention of Your Personal Data
The Company will retain Your Personal Data only for as long as Your Account remains part of an active Home. A Household Admin can remove a task or a Home at any time from within the Service. To request deletion of a specific person’s Account and associated data, contact Us using the details in the “Contact Us” section below.
We may need to retain certain information when We have a legal obligation or lawful basis to do so.
Transfer of Your Personal Data
Your information, including Personal Data, is processed using Google Firebase infrastructure, and may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of Your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where data protection laws may differ from those in Your jurisdiction.
The Company will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that Your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Delete Your Personal Data
You have the right to delete or request that We assist in deleting the Personal Data that We have collected about You.
You may contact Us, or the Household Admin of a Home You belong to, to request access to, correct, or delete any personal information that You have provided to Us.
Please note, however, that We may need to retain certain information when We have a legal obligation or lawful basis to do so.
Disclosure of Your Personal Data
Law enforcement
Under certain circumstances, the Company may be required to disclose Your Personal Data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g. a court or a government agency).
Other legal requirements
The Company may disclose Your Personal Data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:
Comply with a legal obligation
Protect and defend the rights or property of the Company
Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service
Protect the personal safety of Users of the Service or the public
Protect against legal liability
Security of Your Personal Data
The security of Your Personal Data is important to Us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While We strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect Your Personal Data — including those provided by Firebase/Google Cloud — We cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Children’s Privacy
The Service is designed for household and family use, and We recognize some household Members may be under 13 (or the relevant age of consent in Your country).
Because there is no public sign-up, a child never creates their own Account or submits their own information to Us — a Household Admin (typically a parent or guardian managing their own household) creates the profile on the child’s behalf. By creating a profile for a minor, the Household Admin confirms they have appropriate parental or guardian authority to do so and to agree to this Privacy Policy on that person’s behalf.
If You believe a child’s Account was created without appropriate parental or guardian authority, please contact Us and We will take steps to remove that information from Our servers.
Links to Other Websites
Our Service may contain links to other websites that are not operated by Us. If You click on a third party link, You will be directed to that third party’s site. We strongly advise You to review the Privacy Policy of every site You visit.
We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites or services.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update Our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify You of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this Privacy Policy.
You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
